Calculate the quantity of LOMAX products you need

Since our products are designed to be modular, we offer a huge range of structurally engineered and compliant configurations for indoor hoardings up to 8mH and outdoor hoardings to 4mH with various wind speeds – To offer compliance, you simply increase the quantity of supporting counterweight at the rear of the hoarding in accordance with our easy instructions / guide.

For indoor hoardings, the quantity of weight that is needed is simply determined by the height of the panels you wish to install. However, for outdoor use, both the height of the panels and the wind speed capability you want to achieve needs to be considered to ensure the correct quantity of counterweight is deployed. All guides and structural engineering documentation is provided.

Indoor Example

Our counterweights are 18Kg each so for an indoor hoarding at 3.6mH only requires 4 x Lomax Counterweights (per stack) and 1 x Large Lomax Support Post on the rear of each panel join at 1.2mW spacing / intervals to support the panels and timbers that you would add (A single stack of weights only has a 46cm deep footprint).

So, for a typical indoor hoarding that is 12Lm @ 3.6mH requires just 40 x Lomax Counterweights and 10 x Large Lomax Support Posts to support the panels and timbers that you would add.

We have completed the required testing for all indoor configurations and provide a simple guide so that you can offer the correct ‘weight-to-height’ ratio for compliance – It’s really simple and all structural engineering documents are provided.

Our calculator confirms the quantity of Lomax counterweights that you’d need for indoor hoardings up to 8mH.

Outdoor Hoardings

Outdoor hoardings also need to mitigate and manage additional wind pressure that the panels may be subjected to – The quantity of counterweights that are required for outdoor hoardings is significantly greater than what is required for indoor hoardings.

The ‘Lomax System’ offers a range of configurations for outdoor hoardings up to 4mH and wind speeds of 34m/s (122.4Kph) – you simply increase the quantity of supporting counterweight at the rear of the hoarding in accordance with the height of the solid panels being used and any ‘site-specific’ wind loading of your hoarding location.

In some cases, you will need to construct the system with a ‘double stack’ of counterweights for greater supporting stability – We have specifically designed a ‘Double-Stack Support Post’ to offer the easiest approach to constructing an outdoor hoarding that requires a ‘double stack’ of counterweights.

An indoor hoarding has the counterweights spaced out at 1.2mW intervals, but for outdoor hoardings this can also be reduced to 0.6mW intervals to assist in keeping the overall footprint of the solution to a minimum. Our easy instructions / guides show the options and system capabilities for both 1.2mW and 0.6mW intervals.

Outdoor Example

An outdoor hoarding at 2.4mH with a wind speed requirement of 15m/s (54Kph) only requires 13 x Lomax Counterweights (per stack) and 1 x Large Lomax Support Post on the rear of each panel join at 1.2mW spacing / intervals to support the panels and timbers that you would add (A single stack of weights only has a 46cm deep footprint).

So, for an outdoor hoarding that is 12Lm @ 2.4mH requires just 130 x Lomax Counterweights and 10 x Large Lomax Support Posts to support the panels and timbers that you would add.

We have completed the wind computations for all our outdoor configurations and provide a simply guide so that you can offer the correct ‘weight-to-height-to-wind speed’ ratio for compliance – It’s really simple and all structural engineering documents are provided.

Use our simple ‘Lomax Stock Calculator’ to understand what quantity of modular components you would need for your project.
